Real Anxiety Relief, Backed by Science
Tested supplements for anxious, exhausted minds
We’ve combed through hundreds of human studies to uncover which natural supplements actually ease anxiety and stress. No hype—just the few that consistently work. Distilled into clear, practical guidance so you don’t waste time or hope.
Evidence-Based Choices
We analyze peer-reviewed studies to present natural supplements like ashwagandha, kava, and magnesium. No miracle claims, just validated information to help you make informed health decisions.
Selection Criteria
We applied strict inclusion criteria to ensure high-quality evidence. Key requirements were:
Human subjects: Only clinical studies in humans were considered (no animal or in vitro research).
For example, Lakhan et al. only included “clinical studies … in human participants” assessing anxiolytic effects .
Study design: We prioritized randomized controlled trials (RCTs), especially double-blind placebocontrolled trials, as the gold standard evidence. Controlled observational studies and open-label trials were noted but given less weight. We also included meta-analyses and systematic reviews of RCTs, which pool multiple trials for stronger inference. (For instance, one recent review systematically searched for RCTs of ashwagandha on anxiety/stress .)
Peer-reviewed sources: Only studies published in reputable, peer-reviewed journals or officially registered reports were used. We excluded abstracts, gray literature, or papers without full peer review.
Outcome relevance: Studies had to measure anxiety or stress directly (validated scales or physiological markers). Trials where anxiety was merely a minor secondary observation (e.g. a cognition study that incidentally measured mood) were generally excluded. Likewise, supplements lacking any human anxiety data were not ranked.
This rigorous screening ensured that every supplement in our list had at least one human study addressing anxiety/stress, and that higher-level evidence (meta-analyses, multiple RCTs) received priority.
